Life is often like a storm. One never knows if it's going to be a bright, sunny day or if it will be cloudy and grey. Some people fare better if they are forewarned of the clouds but still can forget to bring an umbrella. Others, regardless of warning, still can have a difficult time adjusting to the rain. Rain can last for days or it may pass after just a few hours. As life is to weather, therapy is to the tools you use to manage the weather. Therapy can be used to help remind you, reinvigorate you, or help you develop the tools needed to weather the storm until the clouds clear or help you transition to a more managaeble climate full of sun.
In therapy, we work together to determine what your goals are and how best we can accomplish them. Together, we collaborate, figure out what best suits you and then help create a plan to reach it. Often times in therapy, you may find yourself not happy with the things you discuss or where those feelings can take you. Other times, it can feel wonderful to finally release parts of your self and your heart that you haven't shared. Either situation is normal and both can lead you to a better place at the end of your journey. You help determine where on your journey you are and when you reach it. Therapy is often a journey that we take to transform us from who we are today to whom and where we want to be and it can be interesting the things we find out about ourselves along and the people we find along the way.
Therapy can look like homework some time, ideas or activities designed to make you think, to reconsider an opinion, or try something new, but in the end, it can all be worth it. That being said, if you are interested or curious, feel free to look below at some of the services provided. The meanings we attach to things and the choices we make ultimately lead us into either a better place or a place we aren't very happy about. Make a positive change and start your path to a life of fulfillment.
